Kaedyn Burroughs, a freshman at host Long Beach Wilson High, won the boys 400 meters in 48.71 seconds at the California Relays at Wilson High. Burroughs also contributed to a pair of runner-up relay finishes for the Bruins, with the 4x200-meter relay clocking 1:27.16 and the 4x400-meter relay running 3:17.67. Burroughs also ran a leg on the third-place 4x100-meter relay, which achieved a 42.53 effort.
